We Won't Forget You Mr. McGillicuddy Book Review

My Review

When I first started reading the book I thought that it will be about war veterans and their life. The story took a completely different path all together and entered a world of fiction, where I was in awe of the story plot.

It starts with Mr. Gil trying to help his children when they run short of money and his son Robert constantly trying to make him understand that giving money to his kids won't help as they will always be dependent on him. Robert is a blogger who had retired to care of his aging dad a WWII veteran is the protagonist of the story. Mr. Gil suffers from memory loss and his old age is a big concern for his son. To make matters worse for Robert, his daughter is pregnant with her second child and is moving to stay with him after the father of the second child turned to meths and denied from taking care of her.

Now as the whole family is together Mr. Gil have a great time spending with his granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

Meanwhile the author introduces us to another character in the story Fedder. Fedder, who has a private company and is serving as a supervisor of an intelligence and security company, also authorizes over everyone working on the intelligence gathering project, that he obtained from the government and now is in the search of bloggers who pose a security threat and assigns a task to Reggie who has to rate them, based on their security risk.

Because of the radical thoughts of Robert and his blogging skill, Fedder tracks him down and he is in real danger.

Now, Robert has to devise a way out of the mess. Will he be able to make it out in one piece or is his life in real danger?

I won't be a spoiler alert about what would happen next and you have to read on to find out what happens next.

The best part of the book was the emotional connection that the Grandfather- Great had with his great granddaughter, Sapphire. When Mr. Gil asked her why she called him Grandfather- Great, she replied you are Grandfather and also you are great, so Grandfather- Great suites you.

I just loved these conversations between the oldest, with the youngest in a family. And how little Sapphire learnt life lessons from it. Even I learnt a couple of life lessons from Mr. Gil's life.

The pace of the story was great and I believed that the ending will be tragic but it was an unexpected ending with the story slowing moving from a tragic ending to one that keeps you in the hunt of what would happen in the sequel of the book.

Overall it is a great book and the narrations of the story plot is “THE BEST” of the stories in this genre.

Book Review of Super-couples

About the book

In an era booming with the 'Start-up' trend and loving this new attitude of breaking boundaries and conventions of a career, one also faces the challenge of being able to partner up with the right people. In lieu of reliable and trustworthy partners, real life couples in relationships have started exploring the idea of partnering up in business too!
Speaking to various couple-preneurs, one realizes that the myth about
mixing work and home is just as misty as the one about needing a stable and conventional job for an ambitious career. These dynamic
start-ups break stereotypes and cover a varied range of services: ecommerce, innovative gifts, eco-friendly products, health care solutions, social responsibility ventures, event management, digital
solutions and many others.
SuperCouples brings out such lovely stories of enterprising couples. After all, when great minds come together to produce something built on conjoined dreams, the result is eminently successful.

My review

The simplest of action is better than the noblest of intentions.”

Every single person has a dream to be successful and to live a life of their dreams. But to achieve every single dream you have to make a lot of choices (to be very specific not sacrifices but choices), like learning about your craft and staying away from your loved ones and a lot more to add to the list.

How will you perform and feel when you have your spouse as your business partner? Someone who knows you better and with whom you can share all the secrets and ideas of your start-up.

Life will never be the same again when life partner becomes your business partner. You can nourish and grow your business along side your spouse and still have the much needed emotional and mental support.

Super Couples by Prachi Garg, brings you unique stories of couples who have ventured in a journey of living their lives according to their terms and conditions. From leaving lucrative jobs to starting a business they had no idea of the outcome when they change the geographical locations, these couples have faced all the twists and turns in their lives.

The book speaks about successful couple entrepreneurs whose dreams were more important than their fears. Living a life where you make a journey in to the unknown and face unknown challenges and learning life lessons on the way these couples have faced it all on their journey.

Many of the start-ups these successful couples have started weren't known to me. I did make it a point that I browse each and every website given and was amazed at the products these super couples have made. It is really a great feeling of seeing so many couples starting their business venture and being successful at it.

The best part about the super couples was the commitment towards each other and their business. If you aren't committed towards your goal, your egos will take the better of you. Keeping aside the egos and differences these couples have done an incredible job in nourishing their start-ups.

I loved this quote from the book

As examples of a successful entrepreneurship and relationship as well, they highly recommend aspiring entrepreneurs to work with their life partners to experience the depth of this beautiful equation – one that provides confidence, trust and support, and enriches both professionally and personally”

I wish all the entrepreneurs a great success in their lives

I have already read another book and reviewed it on my blog Super Women and I'm looking forward to read the next book by Prachi.

You have earned a loyal fan who will keep looking forward for your inspiring books to be published.

Wish you great success Prachi. Keep writing!

Book Review of Playing Hurt

About the book

The fear and insecurity in growing up in a small town that offers little opportunity and few role models, exacerbated by an uncertain future and pressure by emotions difficult to control, inspired Gerald L. Nardella to write this novel. Life’s struggle can be lonely and painful. Gerald grew up in a small town, experiencing firsthand the insecurities from living in a broken home. Those insecurities still haunt him to this day.

My Review

The story starts with a football game where Brian and the school seniors desperately wanting to win the last football game of the season. But they fought in a losing cause.

The story mostly revolves around the two protagonist of the story Deanie and her boyfriend Brian. Deanie gets herself in trouble when she sleeps with her ex-boyfriend Bill and Brian is mad about the fact. The matters get worse for Brian when he is accused of stealing and his low grades at school makes life even more difficult for him.

Life has it's own way of relating things and Brian is confused to a point that he has no idea about what is happening in his life. And Deanie on the other hand is pregnant and is confused as to who is the father of the child.

What I didn't like in the story is the excessive use of the word sex and the way it was portrayed. The whorehouse, having sex every now and then was so common in the story that I felt like the author was dragging the story and it didn't feel original.

The story full is of sex, sex and more of the sex which made it frustrating for me to read at a certain stage.

And the best part of the story was its climax. It was completed unexpected of what happened in the end. It was mind blowing how the author made a quick turn of fates and an unexpected turn of events, changed the storyline completely. I loved the ending and the events that made it even more interesting.

Overall it was a good story with a great ending.
